Snowmobiling
Pittsburg is the snowmobile capital of New Hampshire. Over 300 miles of groomed NHSA trails start right here, connecting to an endless network across the North Country.
X/C Skiing & Snowshoeing
Our groomed private trail network winds through the property and connects to the Cohos Trail. Trails are open to the public — please sign in at the office.
Winter Camping
A handful of sites stay open all winter with 30-amp hookups and WiFi. Wake up to a snow-covered forest and miles of trails right outside your door.
Sledding
The hill behind the campground is perfect for sledding. Bring the kids and make a day of it — hot cocoa at the store afterward.
ATV & Off-Road Riding
When the trails dry out, Pittsburg opens up an extensive network of ATV and logging roads through thousands of acres of protected forest. Bring your machine and explore.
Trout Fishing
Spring is prime time for trout fishing on the Connecticut River and its tributaries. The headwaters here are cold, clean, and full of native brook trout.
Wildlife & Birding
Spring migration brings warblers, waterfowl, and raptors through the region. Moose are frequently spotted along the roadsides and near the lakes in early morning.
Hiking the Cohos Trail
The Cohos Trail runs directly through our property. Spring hiking means wildflowers, rushing streams, and the forest coming back to life after a long winter.
Fishing
The Connecticut Lakes and their tributaries offer world-class fishing for brook trout, rainbow trout, and landlocked salmon. Licenses available nearby.
Swimming & Kayaking
First Connecticut Lake is just minutes away. Rent a kayak or canoe, swim off the boat launch, or just enjoy the view from shore.
Hiking
Miles of trails wind through the surrounding forest, including the Cohos Trail and logging roads that stretch deep into the wilderness.
Wildlife Watching
Moose sightings are nearly guaranteed in summer. Loons, eagles, and osprey are common on the lakes. Bring your camera.
Fall Foliage
Pittsburg peaks in late September and early October with some of the most spectacular foliage in New England. The drive up Route 3 alone is worth the trip.
Hunting
The North Country is prime hunting territory for deer, moose, bear, and upland birds. Check NH Fish & Game for current seasons and licensing.
Hiking & Leaf Peeping
Hit the trails at peak color for views that stretch into Canada. The Cohos Trail offers everything from easy walks to challenging ridge hikes.
Photography
Fall light in the North Country is extraordinary. Misty mornings on the lakes, moose in the meadows, and color everywhere — a photographer's dream.
